GREETINGS

Welcome, Dear Colleagues!

It is my great honor to serve as the Organizing Committee Chair for the KPS, ISPS, WSPC 2024 Co-hosting Meeting hosted by the Korean Pain Society (KPS), the International Spinal Pain Society (ISPS), and the World Society of Pain Clinicians (WSPC). We warmly welcome pain medicine professionals from around the world, where you can experience the distinct beauty of autumn.

Korean Pain Society, with its 40-year history, has successfully co-hosted several international conferences, including the 6th Asian Oceanic Society for Regional Anesthesia (AOSRA) in 2001, the 2nd Asian Pain Symposium (APS) in 2004, the 13th World Congress of Pain Clinicians (WSPC) in 2008, and the 1st International Spinal Pain Society (ISPS) in 2016.

The KPS, ISPS, WSPC 2024 Co-hosting Meeting will be held from November 14(Thu.) to 17(Sun.), 2024, at the Lotte Hotel World, Seoul, Korea. We expect around 1,200 participants from over 25 countries. The Meeting will feature renowned leaders in pain medicine, as well as presentations on various topics including basic and clinical research, medications, and techniques related to pain medicine. Additionally, Cadaver and Ultrasound workshops are planned. We anticipate this will be the world's premier academic meeting in the field of pain medicine, showcasing the latest scientific information and treatment techniques.

Pain is experienced differently by each individual, influenced by geographic and social factors. We believe this Co-hosted Meeting will be of great value, fostering the exchange of clinical and academic knowledge and research among pain medicine experts from diverse medical environments worldwide. Furthermore, around the venue offers attendees a chance to enjoy K-POP and K-Food culture, providing an added dimension of enjoyment.

The KPS, ISPS, WSPC 2024 Co-hosting Meeting Organizing Committee promises to make every effort to ensure a beneficial and memorable experience for all participants. We look forward to your interest and participation.

Hosting KPS, ISPS, WSPC 2024,

As we welcome the year 2024, it is with immense honor and a profound sense of responsibility that we host three esteemed global conferences-the Korean Pain Society (KPS), the International Spinal Pain Society (ISPS), and the World Society of Pain Clinicians (WSPC)-in the world-renowned city of Seoul.

With advancements in medicine and the dedicated efforts of numerous researchers, the extension of human lifespan is becoming a reality, thereby heightening the focus on pain management more than ever before. From acute pain caused by sports injuries, car accidents, and surgeries, to the increasing interest and demand for treatment of chronic pain due to aging and degenerative diseases, the spectrum of pain management is broadening. Moreover, there is now a vibrant discourse on accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment of rare diseases such as CRPS, Fabry disease, and Ankylosing Spondylitis, as well as peripheral nerve diseases like cancer pain.

In Korea, systematic approaches to pain treatment and the education of skilled professionals were activated only after the Korean Pain Society was established in 1986. Over nearly 40 years, we take pride in the remarkable advancements in clinical techniques and the exchange of rigorous research within Korea. The nation has now opened new horizons in pain management globally, known as K-Pain Treatment. Just as Korea transitioned from a country receiving aid in the aftermath of the Korean War in the 1950s to one that now provides assistance to many nations, it is time for Korea to contribute significantly to the global dissemination and advancement of pain treatment.

Hosting this meeting in Seoul alongside the Korean Pain Society is a testament to our accumulated relationships and the solidifying role of Korean pain treatment on the world stage. The Meeting will commence on November 14th with an Advanced Course Cadaver Workshop. This workshop will provide an opportunity to directly learn about spine intervention techniques using a variety of Korean devices and technologies, surpassing procedures like Decompressive Neuropathy. From November 15th, the Meeting will feature Ultrasound Workshop and invite over 40 distinguished scholars from around the world to share high-level lectures and research findings. The event will showcase a rich array of experiences, from foundational research results on pain to the latest AI-integrated treatment methods, ensuring a comprehensive understanding and practical clinical skills.

The Lotte Hotel World in Jamsil, where the Meeting will be held, is located near amusement parks, historical sites like Mongchontoseong and Olympic Park, and the hubs of K-POP entertainment companies. It is a popular destination for many tourists. I am confident that attending with your family, colleagues, and peers will provide not only the eagerness for learning but also a valuable time of relaxation and enjoyment in Seoul. Following the legacy of the 13th WSPC in 2008 and the 1st ISPS in 2016, it is with great enthusiasm that we emphasize the KPS, ISPS, WSPC 2024 Co-hosting Meeting this November in Seoul. We hope for your great interest and look forward to your participation.
