Eligibility for Membership
- Regular members: Board members of anesthesiology and pain medicine who has paid the membership fee.
- Associate members: Residents of anesthesiology and pain medicine who has paid the membership fee. Members of other associations can be registered as associate members upon approval by the Board of Directors.
- Expatriate members: Expatriate physicians with equivalent qualifications to those described in Section 1 and 2 can be registered as members of KPS. However, their membership is restricted to the fiscal year for which they have paid the membership fee.
- Honorary members: Korean citizens or non-Koreans who are nominated by the Chairman and approved by the Board of Directors meeting and the Council meeting.
- Special members: Individuals or organizations which are nominated by the Chairman and approved by the Board of Directors meeting and the Council meeting in consideration for the interactions between them and KPS. Special membership is valid for two years.
- Regular membership and associate membership will be suspended if members fail to pay the membership fee for three years.
- Only regular members are entitled to have voting rights and are eligible for election.
- Suspension or cancellation of KPS membership follows the procedures laid out in the memorandum of the Korean Medical Association.
